thanks, okie! good to know we can resume conversation here too.

@citizen - see the OT @ moa for the link to juan moment's blog. it was several comments before your last post. there has been a little community activity at his blog as well.

"anywhere else i'm missing?"

I've been having trouble finding my feet and have gravitated around anna missed's place. It looks like china_hand found it, too, but I haven't seen any other sign of virtual refugees making it that far.

LS has most of its functionality back. However, I would be cautious for now, since dan may shortly be doing a database backup which would cause us to lose anything we do between today and then.

I forgot all about this place. Who maintains it? I still can't figure out how to get into lespeakeasy - can't remember my old password, see no place to make a new one? Is it good to have to show ID at the door?

Posted by: anna missed | Jul 8, 2009 10:02:37 PM

anna missed,

It looks like the LS functionality to request a new password is working. Hit login, and when it fails you will be given a link for "forgotten you password?" Your LS ID is "anna missed", just give it an email address and it should email you a new password.

If we can successfully prevent spam registration at LS, that gives us the option not to require passwords, and the community can discuss it. Originally we had agreed that passwords were a necessary protection from the kind of trolling that Billmon had to deal with, but that may not be as great a risk now. I don't know how much troll moderation Bernhard had to perform.

Okie,

Thanks for the info, but I tried this and it doesn't send me my password via e-mail. Is there anyway else to access password? Or start another?

Posted by: anna missed | Jul 10, 2009 1:19:31 PM

anna missed,

is your email the same one you registered with originally?

k***...***r@i**...**e.net

if so I can reset your password and email it to you. You could then immediately change it to whatever you like. let me know...

that must be it - new one is kellyhc@centurytel.net

thanks so much
